New research, released online today in the journal of Psychology & Health shows that women who exercise during their pregnancy experience better mood and decreased fatigue compared to those who don’t.  In the study, 56 pregnant women where asked to include 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise into their day about 4 times a week.  All women were approximately 22 weeks pregnant and had been previously inactive during the first half of their pregnancy.  Results showed significant improvement in overall mood as well as reduced fatigue.

This further confirms current guidelines recommeding around 30 minutes exercise per day for pregnant women.  However it’s  important to check with your GP or Obstetrician before emarking on any exercise routine.
